How to Channel as an English Major
Have you ever bought a new age magazine? I bought one last year that made me weep with happiness when I read a story written by a woman channeling the consciousness of motherhood. The back of the magazine was plastered in 2012 mojo. New Age stuff is crazy, right?
Anne Lamott calls her intuition broccoli and has inspired me to give my intuition a form. So far, she's a wise witch. She has seen the beginning and end of time and all the space in between and after. She has been in the bodies of men and women from different lands, cultures and experiences and she has chosen a home in me. She is kind and would never say that the things I think are stupid or make me feel that way. Her voice is so beautiful. It is blue sky and rain, purple pink sunsets, it is that of a mermaid, of god, of a being from another dimension. It is hypnotic and what she thinks and feels is valuable. When she speaks to me, I must write it down.
I only said that in case you thought it was crazy. To tell you the truth, I find it freakishly delicious. I only used the word "freakishly" so you would think I'm on the fence about it, but I'm not. I believe in this stuff.
Here is my interpretation of how to "channel" as an English major/writer adapted from http://www.wikihow.com/Channel.
1. Believe that you were chosen
How else does a person decide they were meant to be a prophet, witch or storyteller? You have to be a little crazy to be a "chosen one." I didn't pick my "useless" degree, it picked me and I am joining the world of the mediums and mystics. Being chosen means you were given the ability to access significant, meaningful information. This is the best.
2. Love yourself.
Or at least like. The information will find you quicker when you believe there was a reason you were chosen. You're incredible. Make a list of all the things you love about yourself.
3. Forgive yourself for all the bad you have done and all the bad that has been done to you.
This is imperative to evolution and elevation of the human experience. As a follower of pronoia, I replace grudges and stale sins with gratitude and revery. What will you replace yours with?
4. Give it a name.

5. Put an agreement into writing and sign it.
6. Start channeling - WRITE!
And put it out into the world. Now a new message will come!
